We've come across many sets from Josh Wink, but were yet to hear him spin live. Made Events decided to bring him along with Loco Dice for a night to a familiar space at club Shelter and we couldn't wait to check it out. Just before 1am the line outside the venue was relatively short which is always a plus on a cold night. We got in with out any hassles, but it took half an hour to finally get to the main room because both the ticket and coat check lines took a while. The latter was poorly organized, with people waiting in the middle of the basement dance floor to get to the coat check window. There was a good crowd on the main floor that grew larger by 2am. Wink was spinning a good progressive, tech house set. He was visibly happy and enjoying the night, smiling for all the pictures people wanted to take. We were hoping to catch Loco Dice, but it so happened that he did not arrive until much later in the morning. In retrospect, the 25usd cover on the guest list was a bit steep, even for New York for just one headliner. Regardless, we definitely enjoyed what we heard from Josh Wink and are looking forward to his next gig in the city.
